For more than 35 years Prohibition has been a symbol of counterculture in Montreal. Our first boutique opened its doors in 1984, and in that moment a movement was born.
One that refused to back down to conventional norms, and set out to make its own path.

Throughout the design process, we pay extra special attention to each and every detail.
From every pin, print and hinge, to the placement and size of the logo, nothing went unnoticed, or untouched. Everything is intentional, and as it should be.
THE LENSES
Our polarized lenses have a built-in filter that not only reduces glare, but makes images appear sharper and clearer, therefore increasing visual clarity and comfort. This filter instantly eliminates the reflecting light entering the eye.
The acetate
Our frames are made from 100% acetate. This makes them sturdier and more flexible than regular plastic while providing ultimate comfort, quality and ease of adjustment.
These factors make our frames feel like they were built just for you. Each tortoise shell pattern is unique to the frame itself.
The metal
The metal used in our frames is lightweight yet flexible and strong.
The metallic frames are laser-cut enhancing the smallest of details, blending them to the wearers face.
The delicate thinness of the frames allow for greater visibility, while remaining timeless and stylish.
